Contractors have one of the most underappreciated jobs in the world. Most people get home from work and sit in their comfortable houses every day without ever thinking about a contractor. However, without a contractor, you wouldn’t have a house to sit in!
When the average person does think of a contractor, it is in a time of emergency. Perhaps part of their roof caved in after a particularly nasty winter storm, or maybe a small, sustained leak under their sink ruined their kitchen floor and they need a new one. In emergency instances, contractors need to get started quickly, and they can’t just leave their trash out on their clients’ lawns or in their house until garbage pickup. For the typically self-reliant and dependable contractor, the process of obtaining a dumpster for their jobs can be extremely frustrating.
If you do contracting business in the Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood, Lenexa, Shawnee, Prairie Village, Spring Hill, Stilwell, Belton, Grandview, Louisburg or South Kansas City area, there is a better option for you and your customers. Small Haul Containers streamlines the dumpster rental process, making it easier for you and your customers alike.
Why Small Haul Containers Was Created
In 2018, Robby and Shannon Gault completed their whole home renovation process. While the outcome of their renovation was utterly worth it, there were a few instances in which the couple felt that there had to be a more natural way to get things done. Finding a quick and easy way to get rid of the trash they created during the renovation process was one of the issues they encountered. They felt as though there were far too few trash-collecting resources available to Stilwell residents and the surrounding areas – especially when it came to getting rid of trash from the renovation and remodel projects.
Specifically, they thought that there were too few options available to renovators that fit comfortably within parking spaces. Too often, dumpsters make their way onto the lawns of people doing renovation projects, which causes damage to the grass itself. So, Small Haul Containers was explicitly created with homeowners and small business owners in mind. They come in a wide variety of sizes, as small as six cubic yards and as wide as twenty cubic yards.
How The Rental Process Works
The rental process is streamlined and designed to make renting a dumpster and hauling away trash as easy as possible.
First, visit our commercial rental page. Estimate how much waste you will likely produce from the job, then click to rent your dumpster. Either pick your delivery date or choose same-day delivery. From there, you fill the dumpster until you are done with your job (be sure to check out our list below of what you can and cannot include in the dumpster). Then, when you are done, call us, and we will haul the dumpster away. It’s that simple – we even provide driveway protection boards so you can ensure your customer’s property is always protected.
What Can You Include in the Dumpster?
Small Haul Container rental allows you to put quite a variety of refuse into our containers, and most of what you need to dispose of we will take. The type of trash you can put in the dumpster includes:
- Household items & waste
- Paper
- Plastics
- Glass
- Furniture
- Almost any electronic device
- Appliances
- Yard waste (separate container)
- Construction debris
- Remodeling debris
- Shingles
- Concrete
- Bricks
- Soil
A few things to consider about this refuse:
Depending upon the size of the appliance, it might subject to additional transportation fees. Additionally, the appliance may not contain freon. If you have any questions about which appliances might contain freon, contact us.
Yard waste must be separated from all other debris included in the dumpster. Failure to do this will result in a $75 fee because our company will have to remove it manually.
Check with us in advance regarding the removal of any heavy materials. If it is too heavy, it might be subject to an extra fee.
Shingles must be clean and cannot be mixed with any other material.
What Can’t You Include in the dumpster?
While we can take quite a few items in the dumpster, there are some which we cannot accept. These items typically require unique disposal practices. Throwing these items away not only poses an environmental hazard, but can be hazardous to you, your client, and the folks at Small Haul Containers. Please do not throw the following in our dumpsters:
- Paint or paint cans
- Chemicals
- Freon
- Solvents of any kind
- Oil drums or tans
- Radioactive waste
- Highly flammable liquids or materials
- Bio-medical waste
- Infectious waste
- Liquids
- Toxic or hazardous materials
If you need assistance finding a place to dispose of these items, contact our local government hazardous waste disposal here.
